Utilizing Your Resources | Tip of the Week

A gas pump

One of the most common mistakes I see with other travel sites is that they aren’t effectively utilizing their resources.  For example, for bloggers who have amassed an impressive collection of photos, it’s worth considering sharing your photos on as many platforms as possible.  Consider sharing your smiling faces from around the world on sites such as flickr, smug mug, and photo bucket are great places to display your prized images.  Moreover, in the description box you have the opportunity to add a link to your site.  Although the majority of these sites offer only ‘no follow’ links they still are very beneficial.  I’ve noticed travel sites with strong nofollow link profiles start off with high page rank.  High page rank will improve your chances of your site being found in the search engines and also allows you to make better deals when it comes to advertising allowing you to make money with your travel blog.
